Your Eye Examination Just Got Smarter

AI driven retinal screening that can detect early signs of cardiovascular risk.

Dr Noon uses clinically validated AI to instantly analyse your retinal photographs, and can detect signs of cardiovascular risk.

Why Early Detection Matters

Cardiovascular disease often goes unnoticed and is usually only detected when complications arise.

Over 160,000 people die in the UK from cardiovascular disease each year.

85% of these deaths are preventable.

Three quarters of people are diagnosed after admission to hospital, and half of these need emergency care, when treatment options may be reduced.

Early Detection Saves Lives!

Atherosclerosis

What is atherosclerosis?

Atherosclerosis is thickening or hardening of the arteries. It is caused by a buildup of plaque in the inner lining of an artery.

Plaque is made up of deposits of fatty substances, cholesterol, cellular waste products, calcium, and fibrin. As it builds up in the arteries, the artery walls become thickened and stiff.

Retinal scan showing blood vessel patterns

Retinal examination can predict heart attack risk

Routine eye screening combined with genetic data could offer insight into individual's heart health and risk of illness.

Assessing blood vessel patterns in a person's retina in combination with details of their genetic data can enable accurate prediction of their risk of coronary heart disease and heart attack, according to University of Edinburgh research presented at the annual conference of the European Society of Human Genetics.

The discovery could inform development of a simple screening process where heart attack risk could be calculated when a person undergoes a routine eye test.

Heart Attack

What Is a Heart Attack?

A heart attack happens when the blood supply to part of the heart muscle becomes blocked, usually due to a build-up of fatty deposits (plaques) in the coronary arteries.

When this happens, the affected part of the heart doesn't get enough oxygen, which can cause serious damage if not treated quickly.

Why the Retina Matters

The Retina is one of the only places in the body where blood vessels can be seen directly and non-invasively, making it a powerful window into your cardiovascular health.

Changes in the blood vessels can reveal early signs of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD).

Dr Noon analyses blood vessels patterns and microvascular changes to detect early signs of heart-related issues.

Dr Noon helps detect what could be developing silently in the background even if you feel healthy, years before symptoms may start.

A Deeper View Than Smartwatches and Health Trackers

Smartwatches and Health Trackers are great for tracking heart rate and activity in that moment, but they can’t see inside your blood vessels. Dr Noon offers a deeper view, detecting structural changes and vessel health, offering a much earlier warning of possible problems.

What can Dr Noon screening detect?

  • Hypertension (High Blood Pressure).
  • Atherosclerosis - narrowing or hardening of the arteries, linked to increased risk of heart attack
  • Early signs of cardiovascular stress - subtle changes in blood vessels that signal increased heart risk

Your Personalised Report

After analysis of your retinal photographs a clear and personalised report is generated.

This includes a comparison to others of your age.

Your report may suggest some lifestyle changes, and/or an appointment with your GP if your results show anything unusual.
