Shiraz Megji

Shiraz Megji graduated with Honours from the University of Wales Institute of Science & Technology in 1991. Shiraz’ father started working as an optometrist in Merthyr Tydfil in 1966 and purchased the practice two years later in 1968. In 1991 Shiraz joined the company and purchased it outright in December 2005 after his father’s retirement. Shiraz was born and brought up in Cardiff and is married with two children. His son, Jos, is also an optometrist working with this company. Shiraz works part-time in our Merthyr practice and is currently our Domiciliary (Home Visit) Optometrist.

• Member of the British College of Optometrists and General Optical Council.
• Member of the South-East Wales Regional Optical Committee.
• Board Member of Optometry Wales - representing all Optometric professionals working in Wales.
• Accredited for Welsh Eye Health Examinations.
• Cluster lead optometrist for Cynon Valley area.
• Accredited for Welsh Low Vision Scheme.
